Ivanka Trumps 50,000 Dollar Donation to a Anti LGBTQ Megachurch 


A few days ago stories and headlines came out saying Ivanka Trump donated 50,000 dollars to a anti lgbtq church. News came out saying that her purpose in doing this was to help migrant children who were separated from their families at the boarder. The Prestonwood Baptist Church has made it very clear that the church is NOT in support of the lgbtq community. Jack Grahm, who serves on Trump's Religious Council and is the Pastor of the church, has also made it clear by sending out homophobic and anti- lgbtq tweets and comments. 
My personal opinion on this is that even though she donated to a close family "friends" church and donated to something that is supposed to help children who are separated at the boarder, I still think the church being donated to is not something that should be supported, especially by the presidents daughter. In June 2015 the law got passed that in all 50 states same sex marriage is legal and there should be no donating to anyone or anything that supports anything against that. Three years later you would think that this very controversial topic would become more accepted and become less controversial, but with these situations happening, I do not see that happening anytime soon.

    Thats really cool how you wrote an article about that because i feel that people dont really care about lgbtq and as most people call it, its a faze and no one takes it seriously.

    I think you chose an important topic to right about. Donating to an anti- lgbt church is not something that should be awarded or praised.

    I liked this story because it really caught my attention lol. I don't think that she should be supporting that type of hate especially when she has an influence on many people. This is a important story and you wrote it very well.

    I feel like the lead was just restating the title. And I can tell that this is a really hot topic! I think that it is wrong to support something that loves to hate on types of people...It is just plain wrong and is also really embarrassing to her name to do such a thing.

    I think you chose an interesting topic to write about however I was kind of lost. I think you could have expanded on the topic and maybe gotten quotes from people who spoke out to Ivanka because it seems like it was a huge issue. Also, I think adding your opinion takes away from the idea of it being a news story. But great topic, keep writing!
